My 99 Silverado lost the lower blower speeds on the climate fan a month or so ago; high still works perfectly. Last night on the way home, the heater can not be turned up via the thermostat control; just stays cool/still blows cold air.
I plan on taking the dash apart in the next day or so, is there something particular I should look for to check/fix, or could the climate control panel just be going bad in different areas suddenly?

That's the one behind the glove box that is so fun to get to I think. It beats replacing the very expensive head unit...
