Electrical problem
1999 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 170k miles

After taking key out, the ding, ding ding keeps going off even if doors are shut. If I start the engine the ding ding goes off; but when I turn off engine and remove key it still goes off. Could it be ignition switch and can I remove the busser without still having a short or current draw?? What circuit can I attack?
Roy
Thank you!!

Sounds like aproblem with ehkey warning switch. The steering wheel needs to be removed to fix the problemUn less you have previous experience with air bags, I suggest you have a shop handle it....otherwise you will also need a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off.

Thanks for your suggestion, but after many hours of thought I kept spraying cleaner and w-d 40 with high pressure to clean out cylinder lock assy. I used a paper clip to jiggle the sensor at the bottom of the lock. IT Worked. Roy
