1996 Chevy Silverado

The wipers on my 1996 Silverado truck do not work correctly now. The low speed on the wipers does not work. High speed does and intermittent does. When I shut the wipers off, they do not return to the "park" position. They do not stop in the middle of the windshield, but they do not return to where they should. Is this a switch problem, motor problem, or something else. Thanks for any help you provide.

That was a very common problem on those truck, because the wiper motor underneath the hood as a computer board which always malfunctions you should be able to buy that board separately at your local parts store, it runs about $25

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what I should ask for as a part name when I go to the parts store? Is it called a control board?

Is called a "pulse board", and if your wipers have the delay option you will need to tell them that, because it is a different board, it cost $29.95 lifetime warranty

My 96 did the same thing and turns out, there was a recall on that.

My warranty had LONG expired but they fixed it anyway at the Dealership.

Good luck!
