I have alot of fluid leaking from under the engine only while the engine is running, its comming from around the bell housing but also there is fluid splasing all around so its hard to tell where the exact location is. Some fluid comming from around the starter also.
Im thinking maybe the freeze plug is leaking?
Hopeing its not a cracked block, yikes! Please Help I need my truck for my job, Thank You!

Hi there,

you will need to get the cooling system pressure tested, this will help locate any external coolant leak, if it is leaking from the bell housing I would be thinking it is a core plug.

Is a core plug leak a common problem? And is this a big and expensive job to fix, also is this a job a backyard mechanic can accomplish? Thank You

Hi there,
A core plug I believe you call a freeze plug, they are a knock in steel or brass plug, if the rear block plug is leaking the transmission will have to be removed to access it, the actual fitting of a plug is straight forward, but removing the transmission my be beyond your means, that you will have to decide.
