1994 Chevy Silverado

When I turn the key to the on position, there is a sound like something is knocking on the glovebox. It goes on for about 1 min. and then quits, but if I turn the key back off it starts again, and goes about the same length. I was thinking it might be a relay or something but I cannot pin point the noise.
