When I step on the brakes the pedal is real hard. I try pumping them but there is not much change. At times I have to push real hard to stop. I have never had a brake fluid flush. I drive this truck a few times a month and plan on driving it more.

HI there,

Thank you for the donation.
This hard pedal is often a sigh of a failed brake booster, you can do a quick check by pumping the brakes with the engine off, this will expel any vacuum, then with the pedal pushed down, start the engine and the brake pedal should suck down a little, it not the booster or the vacuum check valve or vacuum supply is faulty, start with checking this.
