Hi, first time posting here but my 96 s-10 with about 85000 miles on it is barely alive. It's ran rough for a month or so, horrible to no acceleration, idling rough. So far have checked the Egr valve and seems to be okay. Checked the map sensor and it's seems okay also. There are no error codes when a system scan is ran. Yesterday I went out to start it and it would not start. Just turned over and nothing. I saw a small leak around the fuel pressure regulator so I replaced it. The truck then started up but still drove the same as before. This morning I went to start it and it wouldn't start. I took the hose off the fuel pressure reg and it started then I just put it back on to drive. Since then it's been starting but I can't guarantee that it will tomorrow. I think it's more of a fuel/air problem but would like to know what you think and what you think the problem may be. Thanks

Just wanted to give anyone who reads this an update. Looks like the main problem was the pcv valve. I took apart the entire throttle body cleaned it up as good as I possibly could. (Spayed with brake cleaner and cleaned accordingly. Took off the Idle Air Control and sprayed it with a little bit of brake cleaner and wiped it off then let it dry the rest of the way out in the sun. Replaced the gasket between the throttle body and the intake manifold. So pretty much got all the gunk out and a new pcv valve did the trick. If you have an s-10 and it starts to have some of the problems I was having, wouldn't be a bad idea to try swapping out the pcv valve. It shouldn't be more than 5 bucks and if it's the problem it can be a BIG problem. So easy fix and cheap. Enjoy! Lil Red S10.
