I have a 1993 s10 blazer V6 4x4 that I recently tried to change the oil on. I cannot locate the oil filter for the life of me, am I missing something? I had an earlier model years ago and the filter was easily accessible through the wheel well. I have looked all over for the oil filter but cant seem to find it. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Sure, the oil filter is remotely located under the hood on the drivers side or on the engine. They also put it near the core support. Drain the oil in the pan first then use a bunch of shop towels to help with mess or the filter is under the drivers side of the engine, diagram (below)

I think it's remotely mounted.
As in, it's not on the engine block.

Look in the front corners under the hood, behind the headlights.

On my 93 S-10 blazer with a 4.3 V6 it is a remote filter located under the air cleaner behind the driver side headlight. Have to move the air cleaner to change the oil filter.

Oil filter is located behind an access door under the front steering cover panel. Look for the panel straight back from the center of the bumper. You need a straight blade screwdriver or a penny or even the back of a knife blade to turn the release screw 1/4 turn the panel hinges down and the filter is up in behind it. Be aware that it lays flat and WILL leak oil on you if your under it. While your changing the filter wipe down the connection where the oil lines join the filter block and check the crimps for leaks.

Behind alternator. There are several different tools available for this job. Filter wrenches is what they are called. Whatver style best works for your application. The filter is screw/twist on type.
