I have a 1995 Chevy S-10 pickup with a 2.2L 4 cyl. The engine is running very rough and when I checked the oil, it felt very thin and gritty and smelled of gasoline. The fuel pump is electric and in the tank so I know it can't be that. What would cause gas to be in the oil?

Get that gas out of there and inspect the throttle body unit for leaking-injector/regulator-also test for excessive fuel pressure. could also be that its lock in the open loop-meaning it'll be running rich at all times-check the coolant temperature and oxygen sensors.
