Can you replace the Electromagnetic coil under the pulley, for engaging and Disengaging the Air Conditioner?
Or is it all built right into the pump.
The System seems to work OK, When I turn it on, it has a clunking noise, right there at the pulley, when it engages.

Ron Tonkin Chevrolet say's I have to replace the entire pump at $1140.00

you can purchase a ac compressor for under 200 at most auto parts stores. i dont want to sound biased because i own a independent repair shop but maybe you should get a second opinion at your local garage.
