During hot days with the a/c on for 15 to 20 minutes and in traffic or around town the engine will start to stall and the transmission doesn't know what gear to be in. It may stall out and always restarts but bucks and may not be in the right gear. Check engine light comes on and sets code P0101. Mass air flow circuit range/performance problem. I feel this is caused by something else. Is it the MAF? Air filter is fine, no vac. Leaks, idle valve has been cleaned. Tuneup is good. Engine not overheating. It has been like this since I bought it new. Dealer put in a new PCM but didn't solve the problem. Truck has always had a slightly rough idle from new.

Hi badly1, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Sounds like the alternator is not compensating for the additional load place on the engine from the compressor or the computer is not picking up the compressor engagement input signal to increase engine speed thru the IACV. Won't hurt cleaning out the MAF sensor with a electronic cleaner.

If there's a problem with the charging system the engine management system will not function correctly due to the required input voltages to operate the sensors/PCM/TCM
