I was backing out of my snow covered driveway and started spinning I put the 4wheel drive into 4hi just like that I had no reverse. All other gears work in 2w, 4hi and 4wl just not reverse. There is no smell of burning fluid, no leakage, no loud kaabang, nothin. Where do ya start, linkage, are there sensors or acctuators involved, the shifter itself or does the tranny need some work, the back up lights (reverse) don't come on

This could be a number of things but the thing to start with is to find out if the fluid is full and in good condition.

If the fluid is low, it can cause all sorts of issues like this so we must start there.

Next we need to find out what the line pressure is when we are going into to reverse.

I suspect the pressure is low which means we have either low fluid or we have an internal issue causing low pressure like a pump or leak.

So, let's check the pressure using the info below and let us know what you find.

Thanks
