1999 Chevy S-10 truck wont start

when put key in @first try to start all dash lights are on but when try to start truck everything goes dead does not do it all the time just once in awhile not a dead battery had it checked

double check battery connections. im pretty sure thats where the problem is going to be.

Had one of those in the shop a few weeks back, turned out to be the igniton switch. When dash dead , does anything in the truck work ? (stereo, dome lights) Check the fuse panel under the dash to see what is and isnt getting power when it wont start. Some f the fuses are fed via the ignition switch and some are always hot
