1998 Chevy S-10 oil pressure

My truck oil pressure gauge has started to fluctuate. Oil pressure is steady at idle but when accelerating it drops to 0 and then builds back up. While driving along it fluctuates constantly from 0 to 40.

Hi there,

get the oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge, your sender or dash gauge may be faulty, the mechanical gauge will give a true reading of actual oil pressure. Normal oil pressure is 56Psi @ 3000 rpm.
