I have a 1998 four cylinder S10 with 144,000 miles. over the last few months I have noticed a significant loss of top end speed. It has gotten to the point now wher the top speed of the vehicle on a flat road is 60 miles per hour and when I go up any type of incline the speed drops dramatically.
Due to the fact this vehicle came with a shift light indicator and not a tachometer i am unable to determine if this is caused by a slipping clutch.
Any ideas?
