Would like to know what type of transmission fluid do I have to put in it and where do I have to put it in?

The fluid you need is GM syncromesh fluid but there are 2 different types depending on whether you have a 1500 or 3500 trans, it should be on your vin number and any dealer GMC or Chevy can tell you what it is. If you have a 1500 theh part# is12377916 or 12345349 for the 3500. It takes 2.7 for the 1500 and 2.0L for the 3500. They both have internal hex nuts for checking and filling on the right side. There should be one on the bottom for draining.
