I hace notices that when I try to start the truck I have to crank the engine longer before it fires up. I have also noticed that if I cycle the pump with the key and when the pump stops,( I can hear the pump run) I turn the key off and on again and it will start quicker. The truck has always just fired right up, so I know something is wrong.

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is going bad, a quick chck is to pull the vaccum line off of it and if the hose has gas in it the regulator is bad. if not it still may be bad.

you may also have a leak on your pressure test port on the rail or leaky injectors or a bad fuel line.
