I'm having a difficult time getting the trans out of my truck.

Trans is loose and will slide rearward(flywheel bolts are removed), but there doesn't appear to be enough room for the trans to drop. I've removed the frame crossmember and exhaust manifold bolts, and even sparated the transfer case from the trans and the thing just won't drop. I'm using floor jacks to support the TC and trans, but it just doesn't seem to have enough room to pull it out.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello,

How far will the tranny slide back. You should only have to slide it back about 6 inches just enough for the bell housing to clear the flywheel. If it won't slide back that far, here is one thing people forget to do, did you disconnect the tranny lines from the passenger side of tranny.

Also, are you supporting the engine with anything? if so you probably need to lower the engine and tranny to be able to slide it back more.

Hello, and thanks for the feedback.

I'm guessing it will slide back about 4 inches. It's free/loose, all hoses and lines are removed. I thought removing the transfer case and rotating it like 45 degrees would allow room for the trans to slide back enough and drop out. No such luck.
