1996 Chevy S-10 lost power, chokee and died, won't restart.

happened just a block from my house. it kind of shook at first then strarted to lose power, then died. Turns over fine. Tried starting fluid. NOTHING. Towed it home, put it in garage, checked all connections, unplugged and replugged and plug wires on distributer (cap and rotor are new), tried the starter fluid again, nothing. Apparently not getting a spark. That's about all I can tell you. Ideas?
