1995 Chevy S-10 runs rough when AC is on

My '95 s10 4.3L runs really rough when the a/c is on. Sometimes it stalls out and shuts off on me at idle or when taking off. What can this be?

Could be the alternator is not keeping up with the compressor clutch load or the compressor is locking up and the computer is not adjusting the idle speed to compensate for the additional load
