1995 Chevy S-10 Misfiring in 5th cylinder

Replaced the dit. cap and rotor, new wires and plugs, but now the 5th cylinder is misfiring. How do i correct the probllem?

did the engine have a mis before you replaced the cap and rotor and wires?

Yes it did, and then the rotor failed on a 300 mile road trip. So i replaced it and then i had some hesitation but it only lasted a day or so. Been driving fine until a few days ago when it started missing again. But there was a diagnostic done by the tow service and they said i needed a new rotor and cap. MAybe new wires and plugs. Old plugs were corroded, and 1 was even rusted.

Is this a vortec motor or throtle body, and have you checked compression on the engine.
