I have a Chevy S-10 Blazer and made the mistake of allowing the fuel to hit 1/4 tank full. The fuel pump died. We dropped the tank, replaced the entire pump (the whole kit/assembly -- no cutting wires & splicing).
We hear the pump turn on, the spark plugs get wet, but the motor does not turn over? (I even replaced the spark plugs).
Pressure in the fuel line -- a clog -- bad luck? hahaha
