I have a 94 s10 5 speed 2.2 as long as I barely push down the gas pedal it will be fine but when I go to push in the pedal to give it a little up and go it hesitates and starts a fairly loud popping that seems to be coming from under the hood. It is also idling strange. Sometimes when you take your foot off the gas it will stall but start right back up.

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, bogging etc. Could be caused by one of the following below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it.
