Hi, truck has been sitting for around 6 months without being driven. It started and ran ok but now refuses to start and when it does sometimes, it will not keep running.
Their is good spark at the sparkplugs, there is plenty of fuel from the injectors. When I had it running I disconnected the various sensors one at a time and the engine died each time when I did so.
I disconnected one of the injectors so less fuel was supplied and it seem to start and run without dying out. Of course there was not enough power to drive the truck. It also seems to be idling way too fast when I get it to run. This vehicle is used on the farm and is not licenced for the road so I am looking for a simple and inexpensive fix, Hence no towing to a dealer if possible.
Thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers. Peter

Test the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump and also comeback with the fuel pump pressure readings this is where we start.

Check the fuel relay, on the firewall under the hood. Might need to be replaced. This will help with the amount fuel being sent to the TBI

If you have cruise dontrol, on the drivers side top of the inside wheel well is the PS diapragm unit. The plate with the cable connected to it might be adjusted. Put the cable end one hole back, toward the firewall. This will help, not completely solve your fast idle problem.
