1991 Chevy S-10 grinding

Transmission problem
1991 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic high miles

When warm the (transmission?) makes grinding, tinkling, ratling sound. Does not make noise when cool. Sound only when in N or in D while stopped. Transmission seems to work fine otherwise. I'm thinking broken, loose blade in torque converter?
