The engine will start up with no problems but about 3 to 5 seconds after starting the engine starts starving for gas and stalls. From what I can see the injector sprays a good amount of gas when starting up then just stops feeding gas to the carborator after a few seconds which leads to the stalling.

Hello, are there any codes? Your obd 1, you should be able to check codes, yourself? I don't think watching the injector pulse will tell you much, you won't know if it is caused by a missing rpm signal or something else? If you lose the rpm signal, you lose spark as well, depending on where the problem is located. When was the last tuneup, plugs-- plug wires--cap--rotor-- all filters. Those are maintenance issues even if it doesn't fix the problem. Use a gage, check fuel pressure.
