Check the elctrical connections. Ther might be a cross over short. When you turn on the ignition it energizes the motor.

I have just replaced the windshield wiper motor because it had stopped working right in the middle of the windshield. Now when I test it before installing all the panels etc, they will not park. When I turn off the switch they stop where they are. Is the signal for park from the switch or is it inside the motor?

Hi, found this wiring info. There was some troubleshooting info at MOD. It talked about terminals 2--3--4, wasn't any picture. The only 4 wire connector I see is at the wiper motor?? purple wire, number 1, white wire number 4. With connector loose, place jumper wire between 2 and 3 at wiper motor. Use jumper wire with inline fuse from battery voltage to pin 4. If wipers park, the motor is ok. Problem in the column switch or wiring. If you want, I can copy the actual procedure and you can decide, which terminals are 2--3--4. I'm not positive. I don't want to steer you wrong.
