2000 Chevy Prizm Car slow to Move in Morning

Hello!

When I start my car either in the morning or after a 6+ hours of not being on, I have a problem getting it to move. Specifically, I will put my car in drive and hit the gas pedal, the car only moves a few inches, acting like its not responding to the gas. It almost feels as though Im acidentally hitting the gas pedal when it is in neutral. I know this cannot be the case because my shifter is locked into drive it cannot move into neutral without pushing the button down. It will sit there for about 5 seconds, barely moving and then all of a sudden it feels as though whatever is not connecting connects and it takes off. It will be hesitent to take off when I get to the corner of my block as well, but not quite as bad. Again, this only happens when I havent used the car for 6+ hours.
