1990 Chevy Lumina APV minivan. Van will not start after 2 hours of not use. If I pour a little gasoline in its supposed to be a fuleinjector but llooks like a carburator, it will start & runs good. I replaced the regulator diapram but that did not help. Seems like the initial fuel evaporates & it dont want to start until fuel is poured manually into it. Your help would be appreciated.

It continues to run once it is started, or it dies after the fuel you poured in evaporates?

Here are some things to check for your symptoms. It sounds to me like the check vavle in the fuel tank, but here are some things to check.:

-Binding or sticking TPS, or high TPS voltage with throttle closed.
-High resistance in coolant sensor circuit (see Trouble Code 15).
-Incorrect fuel pressure or contaminated fuel.
-Improper EGR operation, leaking, binding or sticking EGR valve.
-Ignition system malfunction, worn damaged or fouled spark plugs.
-Defective in-tank fuel pump check valve allowing fuel to drain back to tank after engine is stopped.
-On V6-173 (2.8L) if engine starts, then dies, open distributor bypass line. If engine starts and runs properly, replace pickup coil.

It doesnt affect fuel delivery, however it does affect timing which can make it hard to start.
