Chevy S-10 surges between 45-55 mph

I have a 2000 chevy s10 2.2 liter auto with 97000 miles and when I drive it staying below 40 is fine and above 60 it's fine. However between 45 and 55 at a steady speed it surges. I changed the plugs, wires, and fuel filter, and I still have the problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Would you possibly have any other ideas on what to check for to remedy this problem?
