Battery Boiling Over

I have a 2001 K1500 Silverado with a V8

My battery has recently been boiling over (leaving rust stain on driveway and also has eroded my windshield wiper cellanoid). I assumed it was my alternator, so I had it tested and it was registering 14.2 volts. He said that it had to be my battery, so I took it back to the purchase site, they tested it and replaced the battery. Now the 2nd batter is doing the same thing.

What could be causing the battery to boil over?

You have a direct short between the ground and the the positive (power) side of your battery. Batteries boil over when there is a slight direct short. A direct short is when the power side of the battery and the ground side of the battery is touching each other through a nicked or broken wire causing the problem. It's a small short because if it was a big one you'd know it. You'd think your welding because there would be a lot of arcing. It's that or the batteries you are buying are junk. Remember. If you buy a crown. You wear a frown. :(
