Engine Performance problem
2011 Other Chevrolet Models V12 All Wheel Drive Manual? Miles

What would happen to an engines performance if the cylinder pressure was increased by atleast double a normal gas engines runs on? Would it be more efficient, more horsepower, etc? Any help would be nice

Any time you talk cylinder pressure that means more compression. Usually adding more compresion means more air/fuel as well to takec are of ht higher compression. The problem in a nutshell is spark knock and you end up with detonation on the piston which burns the piston up and causes other internal problems. Usually when you run that much compressin you have a diesel engine which runs like that. If you did that to a gas engine it would have more horsepower as you would have to add more fuel and air, but it woldnt runvery long as there are issues with cooling and pre ignition/detonation. Hope this explains it.
