I have a 1986 chevy custom 10 and it has been sitting since 1996. When we go to turn the gey, the only sound we get just sounds like something is getting electrocuted. We've ruled out the battery. What else could it be?

Check your starter, solenoid, and wires.

Check Your battery cables for tightness and rust or corrosion. If your hearing a sound you can prob have someone else turn the key while you pinpoint the problem. It sounds like it might be a starter or solenoid.
