i need to fix a leak in the rear main seal. While i'm at it I would like to diagnose WHY my car has a vibration that only kicks in at stop lights. When I am in park or I am driving down the road, the car is smooth sailing. When I come to a stop, however, after a minute the car sharts to shiver and shake. It makes a bassy vibration and feels bad, like something in the trans is going out or is out of balance. Since I have to fix this oil leak, different people say different things about what I should do. Help?

Check to see if your engine mounts or transmission mount is broken or ready to break. Loose torque converter bolts will cause that as well but you'll find that out when you look at the rear main seal.
