Car hard to start

I have a 2003 Monte Carlo Ls with 59,000 and a v6 engine. When I go to start my car I have to start it two or three times and hit the accelerator in order for it to start. Other than that the car runs excellent. I had it put on a machine and no codes showed up. Can you please give me any suggestions you might have to fix this embarassing problem.

Have u got you got youre battery or starter looked at.

I have got my battery check out, but not my starter. This has been an ongoing problem since December of 2006. If it was my starter wouldnt it completely went out by now.
