My 2001 chev monte carlo ss dash lights do not work. Also sometimes the right turn signal does not work unless you turn on the hazard switch for a few seconds. My odometer, radio lights and floor shift indicator work sometimes but most of the time they fad after turning on the head lights. The message center, lighter, signal indicator, and overhead lights work fine. I'm taking it to a mechanic this week could you give me some advice as to what he might check to save both time and money, Thanks!

IF your taking it to a professional, he will already know where to go with this. IF he doesn't, you need a better one.

The impression I get is a bad multi-function switch. The hazard switch is part of the turn signal switch.

On the dash lights, I would first respectfully ask if you have tried adjusting switch for the dash lights?

IF so I would next suspect a bulb issue. But check the fuses first.

Yes I have checked all the fuses and tryed to adjust the dimmer switch. As far as who i'am taking it to he said that he was not that familar with this type of problem and I thought with your help I might give him somthing to start with. He is a professional and has done other work for me on other vechicles. I don't think you have been much help in this matter and I regret asking your service for imformation. It sure was not worth the $10.00 donation.
