2000 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Automatic 151000 miles

my 2000 monte carlo steering shakes, I'm not sure if the alignment is off due to the recent massive pot hole problem in Chicago or if I have a problem with one of my front tires. What would cause the steering wheel to shake?

If it shakes all of the time, chances are it's out of alignment from the pot hole, or a steering component was damaged when you hit the hole. If it only happens when you used the brakes, chances are you have a warped brake rotor.
