I have a 2000 monte carlo ss 3.8liter v6 with about 117,000 miles on it, it seems like it has no power anymore it still starts fine stays running and drives but when I try to accelerate from like 60mph to 70mph it bogs down and hesitates, I will have the pedal just about floored and still nothing, I replaced all spark plugs and wires and it has a rebuilt transmisson and put a new mass air flow sensor in it so thats all working properly, I was thinking maybe bad fuel pump? I dont know I just dont want to replace somthing that is not broken, also my gas guage doesnt read right, it goes up and down no matter how much gas I put in it the guage will bounce up and down so I never know how much gas I have

I would start by checking the catylatic converter to see if it is plugged. That will cause a power loss. As far as the fuel gauge, it is most likely a bad rheostat on the float in the fuel tank.

After driving let the engine run and check the catylatic converter. See if it is glowing red hot. IF it is, it's plugged. If it isn't, I would still have it checked for back pressure.

Did anything work when the gauges were out, or did it start just the same? If so, I would recommend having the BCM checked.
