1998 Monte Carlo diagnostic codes

I have a 1998 Monte Carlo z34 w/ a 3.8 and 166, ooo miles on it. The check engine light came on and the diagnostic computer gave me the following.P1665B, Drive 3, Line 5. Not sure what it means. Please Help! Thanks so much.

A p1665 is an evap code for the vent solenoid circuit. Probably a bad cannister vent valve, although there are other possiblilities including a bad pcm or connection problem.

I have a 1998 chevrolet monte carlo and my altenator will not charge but the big red wire to the back of the altenator is hot but the little wire is not hot
