I have a 97 Monte. I need to replace the upstream O2 sensor in it. What is the easiest way to do this. Looking at it, looks like access beneath the fuel rail will be the easiest. Please help, as I need to get this done, and cant afford to pay the shop fees for having it done.

What ever way you can reach it best is the way. Different techs do it differently. I will suggest the you get a O2 sensor socket for this. IT has a slot that makes it so that you can place the wire in it while tightening the sensor up.

I actually got it fairly easy today. Did get one of the O2 sensor sockets for it as well. I took the intake manifold off and went at it from there, actually pretty easy once you get the manifold out of the way. Hard part was gettin a couple of the bolts out and back in for the manifold. Thanx for the help though!

There's more that one way to skin a cat, everyone has there own personal way of doing tings and this is one of them. At least the socket made a difference anyways.
