I recently purchased this '81 two weeks ago and found potential in this car. However, I hear a lifter tap in it and am not sure if it would be beneficial to look into replacing the engine or just the lifters.
Any imput would be appreciated.

You can try adjusting them yourself, I think though that replacing the engine for this would not be the way to go, you might have a lifter that isnt staying pumped up, could also be a cam lobe wore, you are talking minimal dollars here compared to the price of replacing the engine. If you want instructions on adjusting the valves feel free to email me at b_jhny@yahoo. Com
