Whenever I get in my car and start it, it starts fine, and it continues to run fine as long as I have my foot on the gas a little. As soon as I take my foot off the gas it idles really slow and then it dies. I've tried going straight into reverse and as soon as I start to back out it dies. I've also tried to sit with my foot on the pedal and let the engine get warmed up a little and that doesn't work either. I've had the car for three days and before that it sat on a farm for 8 years but ran fine for the first 2 days. I't has a two barrel carberator if that helps at all

Might want to try carb cleaner thru the carbuerator and readjust the A/F mixture and curb idle speed to include the choke opening/fast idle cam adjustment also inspect and test the EGR and PCV valves-also check all tune-up stuffs
