Fuel guage on dashboard?

I had this same thing happen. You need to take a paperclip and bend it just right to enter through the trip odometer reset hole and move the gauge arrow back around counter-clockwise. Once the arrow is back resting on the stop pin, turn the key back on. This will reinitiate the empty position and the gauge will read correctly.
