Heater problem
2003 Chevy Malibu Front Wheel Drive Automatic 75000 miles

Quite the complicated Problem:

A few weeks ago I recharged the A/C (myself), then a few days later it stopped working altogether (fan still blows, just not cool).

Then a few days ago it started this: whenever I put the fan on defrost or A/C the interior and headlights dim, the car shakes a bit and the engine slows, and if I leave it on it starts to smell like electrical burning or something. However, putting the fan on normal blowing works fine.

Hi
Check to see in compressor is locking up. The smell maybe AC clutch burning. If clutch is tan/white then comp is locking up.
Thanks for donate

Thanks for the quick reply! Is there any chance you could tell me how I would go about checking this?
