The vehicle is making a loud whining sound and it gets louder the faster you drive. No problems while idling. It seems to be originating from the center or maybe from the passenger side. Also there is a noticable vibration during this. What cold be wrong? I'm torn between wheel bearings or CV joints. But then again I may be way off.

A CV joint won't make that sound. A bearing can. Does the sound change when you make turns?

Yes. When you turn left it gets louder. Turn right and it gets quieter. You thinking its a wheel bearing then?

bcald44,
Sounds to me as if the power steering fliud level has gotten so low the pump is trying to cavitate. Make sure the power steering fluid reservoir is serviced to proper level.
