2001 Chevy Malibu Starting

2001 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Automatic

Most times when I go to start my car I have to wait 10 minutes for the security system to shut off then I can start it. Would that be a problem with the cpu chip? How would I go about fixing this problem?
