My car has been overheating and the check engine light turned on soon after the heating issues stated. I haven't driven my car in about a week but was preparing to drive it today. I went to check the coolant level and decided to go ahead and check my oil when I noticed a caramalized color in my oil. It is no longer a translucent fluid, instead its very creamy and looks caramalized. Is it safe to drive or do I need to get the oil changed right away? Please Help ..

Thanks!

If it creamy, coolant is getting into the oil. This could be caused by a bad intake gasket or head gasket. To determine which is the problem, I recommend doing a compression test. Here is a how to:

If you have low compression in one or more cylenders, chances are the head gasket is bad. If they are all good, chance are the intake is the problem.

Let me know what you find.
