2000 Chevy Malibu Knock noise after starting

2000 Chevy Malibu Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My car makes sometimes a knock noise from the transmission right after I start it. After that everything is quiet. Is this something to worry about.

The noise type and where it is coming from is important to determine if it is anything to worry about.

If it is a nkocking noise as if the exhaust is hitting against the body due to a broken hanger, it is nothing to worry about.

If it is from the trans or engine, then it should be looked at immediately to determine what could be wrong.

As the description of the noise and its source is not clear, we are not able to advise if it is anything serious. It would be best to have it checked.
