I was driving on the freeway and the oil light came on. The car slowed to 20 mph and died at a stop light. Oil was present. The motor is shaking. Computer indicated map sensor (replaced) and random cylinder misfire (wires and plugs replaced) but the problem has not been fixed. The car will run for about a minute before shutting off again. fuel pump is not coming up on computer but not sure about compression. Is it new motor time?

Check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge first.

If low pressure is verified, then you may be able to save engine. Oil pump most likely or oil pump pickup.

If mechanical oil pressure is good, then sensor is bad.
