Car has a problem when shifting, sometimes when reversing out of a parking lot it will stay in reverse when it is put into drive. i was told 2 different possible's, 1 being the front clutch, 2 maybe a "shift sensor" . the car only has 62,000 mls on it, i would be hesitant on the tranny being the culprit.

any info greatly appreciated

I would be more suspicious of a transmission range sensor or it's circuit as the area of concern. The senor detects what gear it is in and inputs that to the computer.
